Neighbors Standing Together
The Haven Fund, a fund at JustFund, is a philanthropic response to the crisis facing immigrants in NYC. Our goal is to raise $1 million to support immigrant-serving organizations working in our neighborhoods.
There is a significant need to support the neighborhood-level organizations that are offering pro-se representation, food relief, educational assistance, organizing, ICE watch programming, and basic support services to our migrant neighbors. These are small organizations, many of them faith-based, that build neighborhood networks and utilize volunteers, create opportunities for leadership development and champion democracy and civil rights on a daily basis.
For those who have been lucky enough to be New Yorkers for many years or generations, participation in the Haven Fund is a chance to welcome and support our neighbors. In addition to facilitating financial donations from individuals and foundations to the neighborhood-level organizations, the Haven Fund will offer opportunities for interested donors to work with grant partners and others to forward the mission of making our city safe and welcoming for all.
We have never seen a moment like this one, and it will take all of us working together to survive it and create a new reality. History will ask how we showed up when our neighbors were under attack. Let our answer be clear: we stood together, we built a haven, and we changed what was possible.
